Darnell Place-Wise, interim executive director of the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce, has been officially named to the position.
Chamber board president Heather Redden said the position was advertised and two interviews were conducted prior to the permanent selection of Place-Wise. "She's already been building and repairing relationships, and we want to continue that process," Redden said. Plus, Place-Wise stepped in just a few weeks prior to Deltarado Days and successfully helped pull off the community celebration.
"I am honored and thrilled to have been chosen to be the face of the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce," said Place-Wise. "Living in Delta, and raising our daughter Emma, is a choice for my husband Travers and I; I feel blessed to be able to contribute to the success and growth of this amazing community that we call home!"
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
