Lisa Martinez is the new office staff/director for the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce. Her first day on the job was Monday, April 25.
She will be the chamber's new go-to person for information on chamber programs and activities.
"I'm excited about the direction the chamber is going," she told the DCI. "I am honored to be a part of it."
She lives in Eckert and and has previous experience working with the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce. She has studied business administration, bookkeeping and graphic design at Delta-Montrose Technical College.
Cedaredge chamber board member Nancy Hovde said, "Lisa is exactly the person we were looking for."
The chamber's office hours currently are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
