Darnell Place Wise, executive director of the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce, provided a list of winners for the drawings conducted during Small Business Saturday. Chelsie Dunlap was the winner of a wine basket donated by Jesse and Cheryle Messenger of All Windows and Doors. A second wine basket, donated by Ashley Krebs -- Volunteers of America, was won by Julia Schrock. Portia Vigil of Guild Mortgage donated a leather purse which was won by Amber Rundle. Christian Robbins, a Delta High School graduate employed by the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, provided four train tickets that went to Dan Stutzman.
The winner of the kids' scavenger hunt was Daniel Windemaker.
4th & Main Exchange was the winner of the business decorating contest. The Delta County Independent provided advertising for the winner.
At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
