Chapel of the Cross hosting holiday concerts

By Hank Lohmeyer

There will be an expanded schedule of holiday concerts this season at Chapel of the Cross in Pioneer Town.

The Chapel's traditional two-performance program on Parade of Lights Day is on tap again this year with a local favorite, The Kokopelli Bell Choir, scheduled for the two performances.

The first performance will be at 4 p.m. on Dec. 3. The bell choir will entertain again at 7 p.m. for local audiences.

There is limited seating at the Chapel and so two, special holiday performances are scheduled for Dec. 3. However, tickets for Dec. 3 concerts are needed for admission.

There is no charge for the tickets which are available at Leisure Time Sports and at Gazebo Florist until they run out.

Also, this holiday season, the Chapel's entertainment card has been filled with seasonal concerts on two other days this month.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, there will be two performances; one at 4 p.m. featuring the Storehouse Gospel Quartet with a program of Christmas music. That will be followed by a 7 p.m. performance featuring the Houseblend Jazz Combo providing more Christmas music for the season. Neither of the special Dec. 11 performances requires a ticket for entrance; but, as always, admission is by good will donation.

Finally, on Saturday, Dec. 17, there will be a 7 p.m. performance at the Chapel that will wrap up the concert season with a celebration of Christmas music by baritone soloist Paul Rosin. There will be no ticket required for the Dec. 17 concert entry, and donations are appreciated.
