Delta resident Charlotte Udd died on her 100th birthday Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 19, at Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Christy Tullis officiating.
Charlotte Katherine Gardner was born in Denver Feb. 9, 1916, to James and Gladys Gardner. She attended Denver schools and graduated from East High School in 1933.
She married Evert Udd in 1934. They lived in New Mexico, California and Denver before purchasing an orchard in Cedaredge in 1953. They moved to Ventura, Calif., in 1957.
Mrs. Udd earned an associate of arts degree in accounting and worked as an accountant and office manager for Buena High School and the Ventura County Community College District. After retiring in 1981 they moved to Eckert, where Evert died in 1982.
In 1988, Mrs. Udd moved to California to be near her children. She moved to Cedaredge in 1995.
Mrs. Udd was a member of Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church. She managed an election polling place and was a charter and lifetime member of the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society where she served on the board of directors. She was a member of the Cedaredge Friends of the Library and enjoyed international travel, painting, sewing, reading and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Richard Udd and Claudia (Gerald Harding) Udd, all of Cedaredge, and twins Katherine Udd and Kristine (Vaughan) Armstrong, all of California; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Hill; and her husband, Evert Udd.
