Cheryl Lynn Holden died June 10, 2017. She was 68.
She was born Feb. 8, 1949, in Fort Collins to Terrell and Raenell Quick. As a youth, she was an accomplished competitive swimmer and skier.
Ms. Holden earned undergraduate and graduate degrees and worked as a social worker, a manager in banking human resources, and a criminal probation officer.
She was a member of hiking, cross-country skiing and kayaking groups throughout her life and was devoted to her community at the Center for Spiritual Living. She enjoyed animals, traveling, the outdoors, political causes and spending time with her family.
A celebration of life was held June 17 at the Center for Spiritual Living.
She was the mother of Shane Carver and Jenna Rogers; son-in-law Danny; and grandchildren, Jaxon, Makenze and Brooklyn Carver, and Parker and Carson Rogers. She is also survived by a sister, Janelle, and extended family. A younger brother, Johnny, preceded her in death.

Crippin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
