Cedaredge and Delta High School had busy schedules this past week in volleyball. The Bruins played Ridgway early in the week and then attended a tournament in West Grand over the weekend.
Delta opened its season in Gunnison with four matches in tournament play.
Cedaredge, with results from the Sept. 1 match against Ridgway still not available, played three matches at West Grand over the weekend. Only the box scores were available. In the first match, Lyons defeated the Bruins 3-0 (25-19, 25-14 and 25-17).
Cedaredge got past Clear Creek, 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-17). West Grand swept Cedaredge in straight sets (25-13, 25-21 and 25-12) to complete weekend play for the Bruins.
In Gunnison, Delta won three of four matches. The Panthers had wins over Norwood (2-0, 26-24 and 25-13) and Alamosa (2-1, 22-25, 25-23 and 15-12).
No results were available from the Panthers' win over Gunnison and a loss to Salida. The Panthers defeated Gunnison handily in set one to take a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the match has not been reported.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
