CHS dominates WSL softball

A second straight trip to the Class 3A State Softball Championships was a reward for a terrific season.

Unfortunately, for the second straight time, Cedaredge was unable to get past its opening game in first-round action. It was Burlington last year and Eaton this season.

After trailing 8-12 late in the game, Eaton put together two three-run innings to claim a 14-12 win.

The loss ended Cedaredge's season at 13-9.

The Bruins were honored with several post-season awards, however.

Six players were selected to this year's Class 3A WSL All-Conference team.

Seniors Sam Galley and Chey Christian were joined by juniors Brit-tany Kendall and Shayna Dale as First Team selections. Honorable Mention honors were doled out to senior Hailey Lofley and junior Brittney Thliveris.

This year's Player of the Year was the Bruins' Sam Galley and coach Matt Hall was honored as Coach of the Year.
