Charles R. "Chuck" Hardon died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 85.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at the Cedaredge Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by Grand Mesa VFW Post #9771.
Mr. Hardon was born in Kearney, Neb., Sept. 13, 1931, to John and Mary Hardon. He joined the Navy in 1950 and served primarily in Korea until he was honorably discharged in 1954.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW and served as commander of the Grand Mesa VFW Post #9771 in Cedaredge for two years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna Hardon; his sons, Gregory (Micheline) of Grand Junction, John (Stephani) of Brighton and James of Kaysville, Utah; his daughter, Laura of Nutley, N.J.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
