All Saints Lutheran Church in Austin has been working to improve our community through the annual, "God's work. Our hands." project.
This project is an opportunity for all Evangelical Lutheran Church of America churches to dedicate one day or a month to serve our communities in ways that share the love of God with all people. This year, All Saints Lutheran Church focused on thanking the Delta County First Responders in conjunction with the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on our country and the many first responders who died or were injured in the aftermath of that horrible attack.
This project of service is an extension of the ministry All Saints Lutheran Church does in the community.
Pastor Paul Rosin, along with many members of All Saints Lutheran Church, filled several boxes with baked goods, snacks, games, beverages and other items. The boxes were decorated by the Sunday School classes and the congregation signed thank you notes that were included in each delivery. The boxes were then delivered in August and early September to Delta County Search and Rescue, Delta County Fire Department, Delta County Police Department, Delta County Sheriff's Department, Delta County Ambulance Service, Cedaredge Police Department and Cedaredge Fire Department.
All the deliveries were well received with great appreciation, but, as Pastor Rosin noted, "It is we in the community of Delta who are appreciative for all the first responders' time and dedication to helping us."
