Special needs transition students from Delta High School have been gaining community work experience by helping city parks staff at Confluence Park.
"They came down and cleaned up the edge of Confluence Lake three separate days and we planted the tree on their fourth visit ... they have been a great help to us and were a lot of fun!" explained parks manager Tony Bohling.
Christina Curtis is the students' supervisor/teacher.
Bohling explains the Arbor Day tree planting was delayed until Nov. 19 this year, due to several construction projects in the spring. A Greenspire Linden was planted at Confluence Park.
