Clothing choice is not an invitation

Dear Editor:

In response to an old fogey's viewpoint I would like to comment. And as a women approaching 70, I probably fall into old fogey category myself, so this comment comes from looking back over clothing choices covering a 50-year period. Just because a girl/woman chooses to wear clothes which enhance her body, DOES NOT give license for another person to touch or fondle her body against her will. He says this display of clothing is not acceptable in the USA -- and makes me curious what planet he has been living on. A person dressing to showcase herself is to make herself feel good, and have others think she looks good. It doesn't reflect on the morals of the person and should not be construed as an invitation. Taking advantage is about power and forcing your views onto another person. I feel sorry for him and his viewpoint, and that fact that his view is a serious part of this problem.
