Everyone who is attending the Parade of Lights this year is invited to share in a 2nd annual celebration of cookies, caroling, and a community Christmas Tree lighting scheduled just prior to the parade.
A local resident with the holiday spirit in abundance and a heart for the community has organized and will host a "2nd Annual" Community Christmas Tree Lighting event just prior to the Parade of Lights.
Peggy Bathie said, "I would like to invite everyone this year to our 2nd annual Cookies and Caroling Community Tree Lighting. It will be Saurday, Dec. 3.
"Caroling will start around 5:30. The tree lighting is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. and it will be followed by the Parade of Lights.
"We will be at the corner of West Main Street and NW 3rd in Cedaredge in front of Elberta Rebekah Lodge."
This is the second year that Bathie's community Christmas spirit has come out in abundance and she has taken the initiative to provide the tree lighting. Last year's lighting celebration, complete with caroling and cookies, was held at a large conifer located along Grand Mesa Drive just across from the AppleShed.
Bathie is also looking forward to a 2017 tree lighting celebration. "We started on Grand Mesa Drive last year; this year on Main Street; and, next year in Cedaredge Town Park," she said.
