Eckert resident Connie Chism died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 67.
A graveside service was held Sept. 30 at Cory Cemetery.
Connie A. Wray was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., Dec. 15, 1948, to Eddie and Ginny (House) Wray. She spent her childhood and attended school in Oklahoma City, graduating from American School in 1966.
On March 7, 1969, she married Gary Chism in Carlsbad, N.M.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, cooking, gardening, four-wheeling, jeeping, watching high school football games and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary Chism of Eckert; three sons, Troy (Danielle) Chism and Jonathan (Nichole) Chism, all of Grand Junction, and Bernie (Amy) Chism of Montrose; a sister, Saundra (Albert) Brown of New Castle, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
