Delta County 4-H Council met July 11 outside the Maloney house at 7 p.m. We had an informal meeting due to the meeting room inside not being available.

The meeting began with James Byram talking about his trip to the shooting sports national championship at Grand Island, Neb. He competed in bare bow recurve. The four-kid team from Colorado in recurve got 11th out of 16 teams. Three of the Colorado kids got first, second and third out of all bare bow archers.

Discussion was held concerning the upcoming Delta County Fair. We finalized plans for the Tuesday 4-H hamburger fry and the dance that will be held that night.

Official scales will be locked when not in use for official weigh-ins. There will be unofficial scales available to check weights. There will be ultrasounds after weigh-ins at $7 for each animal. The ultrasound is used to examine the carcass while the animal is alive.

Event wristbands are available at the extension office. The wristbands will be $40 for all events for 4-H and FFA members and their families.

After the meeting we took group and individual pictures for the County Council wall.
