The Nov. 14 meeting of the Delta County 4-H Council was held at the Delta County Fairgrounds in Hotchkiss. All officers were present.

The council discussed a variety of topics:

• Livestock exhibitors will need a veterinarian's prescription for medicated feed.

• Currently there is no state 4-H director in Colorado. Colorado State University is in the process of headhunting.

• As of now, there are no changes to record bookkeeping for 2017.

The County Council decided to reach out to the local homeless shelters for Christmas and see how it can help. Delta 4-H clubs are welcome to join in the effort.

Club officer training is set for March 17, 2017.

It is also time to think about next summer's county fair. The fair board is coming together, and this is the time for suggestions or opinions about 4-H programs such as the Delta County Bred & Fed, or the junior livestock sale at the fair.

Happy holidays Delta County!
