Daniel Garrett Williamson died of natural causes July 28, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Seattle, Wash. He was 66.
He was born in 1949 to Willard and Eunice Williamson in Dickinson, N.D.
He served in the U.S. Navy and did three tours in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972.
On Feb. 14, 1982, he married Irene Madrid. He had lived in Delta since 1993.
He enjoyed his family and friends, riding his Harley, camping, playing pool and hunting.
He was a member of the Vietnam Vets/Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club, Delta Elks and Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Irene; his mother, Eunice Williamson; a brother, Patrick (Anne) Williamson of Amherst, Mass.; a sister, Michel (David) Haarkenson of Woodenville, Wash.; a son, Jason Williamson; two daughters, Monica Trani and Rhonda Gonzales; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard "Bill" Williamson.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, 2840 Riverside Parkway. A celebration of life will follow at his home at 18254 G Road, Delta.
