Della Aravella Rubalcaba died Nov. 21, 2016, at her home in Delta. She was 86.
She was born in Delta to Jose Cordova and Maria "Grace" Vigil on Nov. 16, 1930. She grew up in Delta and married Wilfred Rubalcaba on Feb. 2, 1952. They divorced in 1988.
Mrs. Rubalcaba spent her life working with children as a volunteer in Head Start programs and at various local elementary schools. She worked for the Foster Grandparent Program for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Michael's Church.
She is survived by her brother, Edward Cordova of Salt Lake City, Utah; children, Robert (Melinda) Rubalcaba of Delta, Caroline Rubalcaba of Delta, Diane (Jerry) Lopez of Pueblo, Maggie (Tom) Silva of Springfield, Mo., Wilfreta (Rod) Scheetz of Spanish Fork, Utah, Veronica (Joel) Livas of Longview, Texas, Demetrius (Kitty) Rubalcaba of Greensboro, N.C., Dello Rubalcaba of Oak Creek and Patrick (Billie) Rubalcaba of Delta; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at St. Michael's Church Thursday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, with a reception to follow at St. Michael's Hall.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
