Delta chapter is active in school and the community | Clubs, FFA, DHS, Delta

Photo submitted FFA adviser Justin Odle is pictured with the 2016-17 Delta officer team -- Makayla Kortz, Morgan Dillingham, Pascalina Earley, Morgan Redden and Sierra Nelson. This photo was taken at state convention in Sterling.

The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity for the Delta FFA chapter. The year started with county fair. Pascalina Earley won grand champion showmanship in poultry, grand champion cow-calf pair and grand champion bull calf. Makayla Kortz placed with her market hog as well as with her steer. The chapter also won a craftsmanship award for its rough sawn hay feeder.

From there the school year started with the annual FFA Homecoming tailgate party where they fed the crowd barbecue out of the ag department's newly built smoker. We went right into Halloween where FFA members set up a petting zoo and hayride for the youngsters in the community. Christmas rolled around and we would like to thank everyone who purchased fruit and meat to help send us to the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo, as well as helping our judging teams get to the state contest.

March 15 is the next big event on the horizon with the labor auction and barbecue. The judging teams are gearing up for action as well, with their first contest coming up soon! Thanks to everyone for their support!
