On Nov. 13, the Delta 4-H County Council met at Heritage Hall.
The annual 4-H Awards Banquet was discussed. In spite of multiple sporting event conflicts in the North Fork, the chili dinner and awards ceremony were successful. The council is determined to improve the timing for next year.
The council discussed the possibility of holding a "Back to 4-H Night" at Bill Heddles Recreation Center in the spring of 2018. The purpose is to demonstrate all of the opportunities available in 4-H. If you would be interested in attending this event, please contact the Extension Office to help the council gauge the need for it.
The Extension Office is accepting new, unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army toy drive. You can drop them off during normal business hours.
It has begun! The 2018 4-H enrollment has been open as of Oct. 16. The enrollment is online at co.4-Honline.com. For questions, contact your club leader or the Extension Office.
The date is set for the annual Beef Roast. It will be held on March 4, 2018. The council passed a motion to purchase a smoker with Montrose County 4-H. The decision to change from the pit to smoker was based on availability and safety. In addition, there is potential for earning money from leasing it in the off season. The addition of pork to the menu was also discussed. No decision was made.
As the year winds to a close and the holiday season begins to ramp up, Delta County 4-H would like to wish all of Delta County a warm, peaceful, and healthy season. We are sincerely grateful for your continued support.
