Delta High School's tennis team posted a 5-2 decision over Cedaredge at Bill Heddles Recreation Center last week. The Panthers won all four of the doubles matches and won at one singles.

Makayla Miramontes outpointed the Bruins Clarity Call 6-1, 6-1 at one singles. Cedaredge won the next two matches with Sam Ribbens winning, 6-1 and 6-3, in two singles play and Sarah Tullis scored a 6-1 and 6-3 decision at three singles.

Delta's Lupita Portillo and Elena Melgoza won a tie-breaker match over Sabrina Gilmore and Addie Schwarz in one doubles play with scores of 4-6, 6-1 and 0-0 (10-8).

Delta's two doubles players Kaleigh Nethington and Pascalina Earley also scored a tie-breaker victory over the Bruins' Caitlyn Bowen and Olivia McCrackin 2-6, 6-1 and 0-0 (10-8).

Hannah Branson and Shyanne Steele earned a 6-2 and 6-1 decision over Megan Branson and Payton Donahue in three doubles play.

Delta's top doubles team (Peyton Schuster and Lucy Streich) defeated Niala Stair and Daizy McCarty in four doubles play with set scores of 6-2 and 6-3.

Area tennis teams are gathering in Grand Junction (Canyon View) May 4-5 for regional play.
