Delta Emblem Club makes donations

The regular meeting of Delta Emblem Club #462 was held at the Delta Elks Lodge on Monday, Feb. 27.
The meeting was opened according to ritual by president Diane Martinez at 6 p.m. Roll call showed two officers absent and five past presidents in attendance.
Recording secretary Mary Jo Chaffee read the minutes of the previous meeting. They were accepted as read. Treasurer Barbara Pierce gave the financial reports. They will be filed pending audit. Corresponding secretary Mary Jo Chaffee read the communications. Those needing action were taken up under the proper order of business. She then read the bills. A motion they be paid passed.
Community service report was as follows: 800 cancelled stamps, 130 education labels, 272 card tops, 20 miles, 18 hours, $50 cash and a small bag of pop tabs.
A short recess was called and the scholarship march was taken. The door prize was won by Kay Thatcher. Mary Jo Chaffee's birthday was celebrated.
There being no old business, new business was opened. Motions were made and donations were given to Delta County Libraries, Cedaredge grad night party and to a Delta student to assist in a trip to Seattle on behalf of the journalism class.
President Diane asked for hands of those attending the Hotchkiss Emblem Club installation on March 20, and those attending the Delta Elks installation of officers on March 25. Various members are attending each event.
