The regular meeting of Delta Emblem Club #462 was held at the Delta Elks Lodge Aug. 22.
The meeting was called to order by president Diane Martinez according to ritual. Roll call of officers showed two absent, with seven past presidents in attendance.
The financial officers, Ilene Dreier and Barbara Pierce, gave their reports. They will be filed pending audit. Recording secretary Mary Jo Chaffee read minutes of the last meeting. They were approved as read. She then read the correspondence and bills.
Committee reports were given. Chairman Barbara Pierce reported 664 coupons, with four hours and 20 minutes time for the Americanism committee. Mary Jo Chaffee reported 113 pop tabs and 117 cancelled stamps for the community service committee. Education reported 13 card tops. Hygienic articles left over from the yard sale were given to Raising Hope. Ways and means chairman Kay Thatcher gave a report on the yard sale held two weeks ago.
Several issues were discussed under new business. They were tabled until the next regular meeting.
The meeting was closed according to ritual at 7:50.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
