The Delta Food Pantry needs assistance. People in need of food are at their door every day and some of the pantry shelves are empty. For the first time in its 30-year history, this year the Delta Food Pantry has spent $3,000 more than funds received. While local churches and businesses are always generous contributing food, few, if any, seem to include the Food Pantry in their budgets. It takes both dollars and food to keep the shelves stocked. Food Bank of the Rockies, a sponsor of the Delta Food Pantry, states that one in seven Coloradans worry where they will find their next meal -- nearly half are children.

The Delta Food Pantry looks to the community to help families through this cold winter. Please donate your nonperishables through a church, service club or participating business. A financial contribution may be mailed to The Delta Food Pantry, 1140 Howard Street, Delta, CO 81416.
