There was some doubt as to whether or not the Delta Panthers' girls basketball team would be in the round of 32 post-season playoffs following a 55-35 loss to Olathe last week.
That doubt was erased on Sunday when the Panthers were paired against The Academy (18-4) for this Friday's opening round of 3A state basketball playoffs.
The Academy is hosting a four-team playoff in Westminster. The Wildcats are seeded seventh while Delta comes in at No. 26 with a 12-8 record.

Neither team looked as though they were willing to take too many chances in the early going. Olathe prevailed, 7-3, after one period and took a 25-16 halftime lead to its locker room.
Both teams scored 15 points in the third period and kept the Panthers within striking distance.
A turnover-riddled fourth quarter presented the Pirates with numerous scoring opportunities and eventually led to a 20-point win for the host team.
