Delta girls top field at Cardinal Open April 4

Delta's girls track team was the class of the field last week in Parachute. The Panthers scored 120 points to capture the team title in an 11-team field. Cedaredge scored 101 points to finish third and Paonia had 75 points to place third.
Individuals with first place finishes included Kaley St. Peter in the 100 hurdles (17.82) and Emily Baier in triple jump (34-4.25).
The Panthers' 4x200 relay team also earned top points with its time of 2:00.74.
There were also three second place finishes for the Panthers at the Cardinal Open. Freshman Remi Baldwin just edged Kaley St. Peter for second place in the 300 hurdles with her time of 52.60 and St. Peter finished in 53.09. Baldwin was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.53.
Baier's leap of 15-1.75 finished second in long jump while the Panthers' 800 sprint medley relay team's 2:03.88 was good for second place as well.
Delta's 4x800 relay team covered the eight-lap race in 11:35.75 to place third.
Individual fourth place finishes went to Beki Atchley (400m), Anha Richards (1600m) and Katalina Rodriguez (high jump). Atchley and Rodriguez also earned points in the 400 meter dash and 200m dash, respectively, with sixth place finishes.
The 1600 meter relay team also earned fourth-place points for its time (4:51.90).
Earning fifth place points for the Panthers were Reagan Clay (shot put and discus) and Baier in high jump.
Seventh place finishes were earned by Hana Hollenbeck (800m) and Jaspe Arias (3200m).
Sami Cassel (discus) and Sara Geddes (high jump) finished eighth for the Panthers.
