Delta has much to offer

Our county and city have been through a lot recently, with mines and businesses closing. In spite of this, I think we can survive -- even thrive -- if we all make a determined effort to shop and do our business locally.
My family and I have supported local business all the 26 years we've lived in Delta. You'd be surprised at the wonderful food, items and services here.
Last Saturday, I had a delicious pastry and coffee and walked my dogs around the lake. Then there were beautiful Gypsy horses on display at Confluence Drive for children to pet. This was topped off by a celebration at Bill Heddles Recreation Center to benefit Young Life, a longtime outreach to teens.
Wonderful things are happening in Delta.
I know it's up to business owners, but it would make our Main Street look better if signage that is no longer pertinent and ripped awnings were removed.
Thank you to all who contribute so faithfully to our town and county.
