Leaf Glimpse, 27, of Delta was reportedly caught in the act of a break-in at a home on 2050 Road, Delta, at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3.
The break-in was discovered by a contractor who was hired to make repairs while the property owners were out of town. Three deputies and a Colorado State Patrol trooper responded to his call. When Glimpse was ordered to come out of the residence, he allegedly became very combative and opened the door with a straight-edged machete and a box cutter in his hands. Glimpse was known to deputies and known to have outstanding felony warrants. He allegedly threw the machete at the officers, then grabbed a piece of the door frame and attempted to strike them. Deputies tried unsuccessfully to taze Glimpse. They backed off and eventually were able to talk him into exiting the house. He was taken into custody without further incident.
He is charged with first degree burglary, three counts of second degree assault on a peace officer, violation of bail bond conditions (x2), criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He is being held on bonds totaling $33,500.
