The Delta United Methodist Church will host the United Methodist missionary Kennedy "Ken" Cruz, who is serving in Cambodia, Sept. 10. Cruz serves as a community development specialist with the Community Health and Agriculture Development (CHAD) Program. He has exciting stories to tell of Cambodian families becoming food secure. Dr. Sam Kevan, a member of Delta United Methodist Church, has been on several medical mission trips to Cambodia to work with Kennedy Cruz.
Kennedy Cruz will be participating in the morning worship on Sunday, Sept. 10. After the worship services, a potluck will be held at noon in the Fellowship Hall and at 1 p.m., Cruz and Kevan will present a program on the work being done in Cambodia. The public is invited to hear how the CHAD program is helping Cambodians learn how to achieve food sustainability. For more information call the church office at 874-9501.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
