Feb. 25:

Anthony A. Graham-Carrillo, 21, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of violation of a protection order.

Joshua J. Oard, 23, of Delta was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Justin G. Oatman, 40, of Montrose was arrested and jailed on a warrant with an $800 bond.

Justin G. Oatman, 40, of Montrose was issued a summons on charges of criminal possession of a financial device.

Andrew W. Poe, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $0 bond.

Feb. 26:

A theft was reported in the area of 1575 Road.

Jennifer M. Barnett, 23, of Delta was arrested and jailed for violation of a protection order.

Officers responded to H38 Road for a fire.

Feb. 27:

Officers responded to Pioneer Circle for a report of theft.

Officers responded to East 3rd Street for a report of first degree criminal trespass.

Tomi L. Peterson, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of driving under the influence and duty to report an accident.

Feb. 28:

Officers responded to Buffalo Street for a report of second degree burglary.

Joby E. Wright, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of second degree assault.

Officers responded to 1410 Valley View Drive for a report of criminal mischief.

March 2:

Jennifer M. Barnett, 23, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of violation of a protection order.

Officers responded to 629 Crawford Avenue for a report of burglary.

Joseph P. Miller, 25, of Delta was arrested and jailed on eight warrants with a total bond of $23,500.

Officers responded to 1443 Mesa View Drive for a report of forgery.

Joshua J. Oard, 23, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and introducing contraband in the first degree.

March 2:

Officers responded to 1550 Road for a fire.

Mark A. Maier, 59, of Delta was issued a summons for charges of pedestrians walking or traveling in a wheelchair on highways and crossing at other than crosswalks.

Robert A. Beck, 62, of Delta was issued a summons on charges of burning prohibited.

Officers responded to 629 Crawford Avenue for a report of a burglary.

Tammy J. McIntyre, 59, of Austin was issued a summons on charges of shoplifting.

Abraham Espain-Navarrete, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond.

Clifford R. Henry, 38, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of DUI, DUI per se, failed to present evidence of insurance, failed to use turn signal and fictitious license plates.

March 3:

Brianna M. Anderson, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of drug violation and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Officers responded to Bluff Street for a report of a burglary.

Livan Santander-Calderon, 19, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of harassment and obstruction of a telephone or telegraph device.

Kristi L. Duran, 32, of Delta was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Citations: Three tickets were issued this week for various traffic violations and officers completed numerous VIN (vehicle identification number) inspections.

Feb. 28:

Delta County Search & Rescue mobilized to locate a cross-country skier who had activated his personal locator beacon on Grand Mesa. With the help of snowmobilers in the area, John Burgevin, 75, of Hotchkiss was located and transported to his vehicle. He had suffered a knee injury while skiing.

March 1:

A caretaker reported that renters had left behind hypodermic needles filled with some type of substance when they vacated a rental home. Later, the owner of that home reported a woodburning stove valued at over $2,000 was taken; he suspected the renters, who had been evicted.

March 2:

A rural Delta resident reported that a neighbor was chasing her horses with a four-wheeler. He threatened to shoot them if they got on his property again.

Avery Forester, 49, was issued a summons for reckless endangerment after a dispute with his neighbors on Cactus Park Road. The neighbors accused Forester of pointing a handgun, then firing a single round in their direction. Forester told deputies he had been shooting into an old burn barrel.

March 3:

At about 3:45 p.m., a fire was reported in the 8000 block of Highway 65. Daniel Long, 57, and his two sons were burning a ditch. They left the area, believing the fire was out, and when they returned Delta firefighters were on scene extinguishing the blaze. A neighbor claims the fire destroyed $15,000 worth of trees and shrubs. Fourth degree arson charges may be filed against Long.
