Dec. 6:

Elizabeth A. Webster, 55, of Hotchkiss was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond.

Cable Z. Rhode, 40, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,500 bond.

Elise F. Johnson, 32 of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,500 bond.

Robert J. Valdez, 58, of Delta was arrested and jailed on warrants with $11,500 in bond.

Joseph P. Miller, 25, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $3,000 bond.

Dec. 7:

Tatyana E. Cruz-Villalobos, 18, of Montrose was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Jessica M.R. Lisk, 25, of Ouray was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Dec. 8:

Jessica L. Sherrill, 32, of Austin was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Malerie S. Voyles, 32, of Austin was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Brandon L. Sadler, 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed on warrant with $0 bond.

Dec. 9:

Shay N. Jensen, 21, of Steamboat Springs was arrested and jailed on warrants with $4,250 bond.

Citations: Six tickets were issued this week for various traffic violations.

Dec. 4:

The caretaker at Riverside Cemetery outside of Hotchkiss reported a maintenance building had been broken into overnight. Missing were three Stihl weed trimmers, orange and white in color, a metal gas can, a grease gun, battery charger and package of blue shop towels.

Deputies took a report from a North Delta resident who said someone banged on his door "like crazy" about 7:30 a.m. that morning. He ignored the incident until he noticed that someone had tried to rip his screen door off its hinges. Some of his items had been tossed onto the roadway. Deputies searched the area but could not locate additional information related to the attempted break-in.

Deputies assisted the Delta Police Department with a search for stolen property at a residence on Spring Circle in Eckert.

Dec. 5:

A 47-year-old Eckert man attempted to turn himself in on a warrant, but was so intoxicated deputies took him to Delta County Memorial Hospital for medical clearance. He was later jailed.

Dakotah Broderick, 24, of Dove Creek struck a cow on Highway 92 near mile marker 76 at about 1 p.m. He said the cow "came out of nowhere." The cow did not survive impact and had to be removed from the median. Broderick was not injured.

Dec. 7:

Deputies responded to an assault involving two brothers in the Paonia area.

Dec. 8:

A Cedaredge area man reported his unoccupied cabin had been broken into. He was unable to determine if a human or an animal had caused the damage.

An elderly woman in the early stages of dementia contacted a friend by cell phone after she became turned around on a walk. Once her location was determined, family members went to pick her up.

A rancher reported she had shot and killed a neighbor's dog that was chasing her livestock.

A REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) was reported about a Gold Ford Explorer or Mountaineer that was speeding up, then slowing down and swerving as it was heading east on Highway 92 outside of Hotchkiss. David Wilkins was transported to Delta County Jail after receiving medical clearance from Delta County Memorial Hospital. Deputies assisted the Hotchkiss Marshal's Office with supervision and transport while the Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.

Dec. 9:

An Orchard City resident reported that while he was out of town, a female caretaker had destroyed some of his property. After she was asked to leave, a friend notified the out-of-town property owner that a 1989 tan gooseneck horse trailer was missing. The investigation is ongoing.

Mathew Mahan, 44, of Delta, eluded deputies Saturday afternoon when they attempted to arrest him on outstanding warrants from Delta and Montrose counties. Mahan allegedly left a residence on Solar Court in Peach Valley driving 80 mph. Deputies spotted Mahan as he approached 2100 and E roads, but held up waiting for assistance. Mahan then allegedly drove into a dirt field near 2000 Road and took off on foot. He remains at large. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 874-8810. Outstanding warrants include failure to appear on a felony vehicle theft case, destroying evidence, failure to appear on an identity theft case, theft, assault and a weapon offense. Because of the weapon offense, Peach Valley residents received a "Code Red" notification that law enforcement was searching for a potentially armed suspect.

Dec. 10:

Adam Wright, 37, of Montrose was airlifted from Ute Park Sunday afternoon at about 4 p.m. Wright was reportedly hiking on Bobcat Trail when he fell from a cliff, breaking both arms and a leg. He was transported by raft to Ute Park, where he was met by CareFlight.
