On March 17, Taco Time's first co-op meeting of the year was held in Salt Lake City. The franchise's top stores, managers and crew members for 2015 were recognized at this meeting. There are 55 stores in the group.
Joyce Ulrich received the "Manager of the Year" award for 2015. This is her fourth time to receive that award.
Ulrich has worked for Taco Time for over 27 years, and has been manager since August 2005.
Ulrich works hard to provide consistent food quality, top quality service and a spotless restaurant. "She is very dedicated to making sure that each and every customer receives nothing but the best each time they visit our store," said store owner Orval Proctor.
Under Ulrich's leadership, Taco Time has participated in fundraisers for Partners, Young Life, cancer awareness and school activities. Taco Time has provided the food for the eighth grade continuation party for the past 15 years.
The crew member award went to Gillerminia Uribe, known to all as GG. GG has worked at Taco Time for over nine years and has been named Crew Member of the Year twice. GG is the day manager on Sundays, and shares night manager duties with Noel Snelling during the week. "They make a great team," Proctor said. Together they oversee a hardworking crew of high school kids. "I am very proud of all of them," Proctor said.
The Delta Taco Time also received the Golden Cactus Award. To receive this award, each store must average at least 92 percent on inspections. "Thanks to Joyce and her great crew, we averaged 97 percent," Proctor said. "Everyone works very hard to receive this award."
On Feb. 5, Taco Time celebrated 36 great years at 707 Main Street in Delta. Proctor credits his loyal customers with the store's success. Over the last three years, he added, the Delta Taco Time has been able to maintain at least a #6 ranking out of just under 200 stores.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
