Delta's Panthers have played some good soccer in 2015. And they have played some very good teams.

Last week, Delta lost two of the three matches played to bring its season record to 2-5 in league play and 2-7 overall.

The Panthers lost to Central, 2-0, on Sept. 22 in Delta and fell to Glenwood Springs, in Glenwood, 2-1, on Thursday. A Saturday encounter against Summit was a 3-1 home win for Delta.

Delta had 17 shots on goal against the Warriors on Tuesday but could not find the net. Danny Mendoza had six of the 17 team shots.

Vi Reh and Joseph Holiman combined for seven saves in goal.

Central had one goal in each half to post the win.

Thursday's match against the Demons was a better offensive effort for the Panthers. Junior Colton Godwin netted Delta's lone goal in the second half. He was 1-3 in goal attempts.

Glenwood's Cameron Horning scored both goals for the Demons, one in each half.

Saturday's match featured 14 Delta shots on goal with three finding their mark. Godwin had two goals and Ian Downey scored the third.

The Panthers are at Eagle Valley, 5-2 and 8-2, on Oct. 3 for an 11 a.m. contest. On Oct. 6 Delta travels to Parachute to face the Grand Valley Cardinals in a 4:30 p.m. match.
