Delta swim team 6th at Montrose Invite

Last week's swim meet held in Montrose was an eight-team event. Glenwood Springs won the Montrose High School Girls Swim and Dive Invitational on Dec. 16 with 443 points.

The Panthers finished sixth with a score of 167 points.

Senior Kendra Hillman had the highest individual finish for the Panthers with a third place in the 100 yard breaststroke. Her time was 1:21.50. Montrose's Madeline Chandler won the event in a time of 1:11.51.

Hillman was fifth in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:39.32. She was also a team member of the fourth-place 200 yard medley relay (Sami Wollert-SR, Olivia McCrackin-SR and Kaitlyn Neeley-SO - 2:17.08) and helped the 200 yard freestyle relay team place sixth (McCrackin, Neeley and Wollert - 2:03.44).

Other top 10 placers for the Panthers include Olivia McCrackin - 10th 100 yard butterfly (1:18.02); Olivia McCrackin - 9th 100 yard backstroke (1:13.63) and Abby Williams JR - 10th 100 yard backstroke (1:26.41).

Earning top 16 places were Ashley LaHoe SO - 15th 200 yard freestyle (2:57.45); Kiarrah Schotten FR - 12th 50 yard freestyle (34.34); Morgan Miller SR - 13th 50 yard freestyle (39.85); Neeley - 100 yard butterfly (1:28.45); Hailee Ruble FR - 14th 100 yard butterfly (1:35.14); Jordan Tamayo SR - 12th 100 yard freestyle (1:13.07); LaHoe - 13th (1:19.01); Cannon Somer SO - 14th 100 yard freestyle (1:23.24); Brooke Hillman SR - 15th 100 yard freestyle (1:28.27); Ruble - 11th 100 yard backstroke (1:20.23); Wollert - 14th 100 yard backstroke (1:26.26); Taylor Bess SR - 15th 100 yard backstroke (1:36.76) and Brooke Hillman - 16th 100 yard breaststroke (1:44.62).
