The Panthers were involved with plenty of wrestling action last weekend. The varsity boys were at Valley High School for the Viking Invitational while the junior varsity boys were in Mead. And, Makayla Mills competed in the Chatfield Invitational where she placed third.

Delta's varsity boys competed against 16 other teams at the Valley Invitational and placed fourth with 126.5 points. Greeley Central won the team title with 205.5 points with Valley (193) and Moffat County (132) finishing at second and third.

Logan Church earned an individual title at 285 to lead the Panthers.

Kole Roberts (145) and Livan Santander (182) placed second with Chance Dillingham (152) and Sam Komive (195) finished fourth.

Aiden Barrios came back through the consolation bracket to place sixth for the Panthers.

In JV action, the Panthers won the team title with Brand Harper, Tee Kue, Dah Wah, Karl Burns and Roger Burns all picking up individual titles.

Cody Suave and Andrew Toole placed second with Tah Deh and Clayton Abila finishing third for Delta.

On the girls' side of wrestling, Makayla Mills was back to the mats this past weekend in Chatfield where she split the four matches wrestled in round robin competition and finished third.

Mills placed sixth at Frederick two weeks ago with her 3-2 record in that tournament.

The two tournaments mentioned are the only tournaments before the Girls State Tournament which is Feb. 3-4 at Northglen High School.
