Delta's Carlson 4th at Devil's Thumb

Sixteen varsity teams and four junior varsity teams gathered at Devil's Thumb Golf Course on Aug. 11 to play in the Delta Panther Invitational.
Aspen's Skiers won its second straight tournament with a score of 218 with Montrose (221), Fruita (227), Grand Junction (231) and Durango (237) completing list of the top five teams in the tournament.
The second five teams, in the top 10 list, included Eagle Valley (247), Gunnison (248), Cedaredge (256), Delta (261) and Cortez (264).
Leading the list of tournament's individual medalists was Aspen's Dawson Holmes with a 68.
Two players, Barrett Jones (Eagle Valley) and Blake Anderson (FMHS) tied for second with scores of 70. Delta's KC Carlson and Montrose's Jordan Jennings tied for fourth in the medalist race with scores of 71.
Aspen's Dom Lanese was sixth on the medalist list (72) with Cortez's Cris Rudowsky and Telluride's Carlo Pine shooting 73 to tie for seventh place.
Blake Schneiter (Grand Junction) and Micah Strangbye (Montrose) finished in a tie for 10th place with their scores of 74.
Cedaredge's Duncan Campbell led the way with his 81 and Peter Carlson was next with an 84 and Nate Stumpf shot a 91 to account for Bruins' 256.
