Dennis L. Hurford died May 23, 2017. He was 63.
He was born in Roswell, N.M., on July 8, 1953, to Albert and Martha Hurford.
Mr. Hurford earned an associate of arts degree from Fullerton Community College in California. He went on to become an electrician and worked for IBEW for many years. After retirement, he moved to Colorado from California to be closer to family.
He married Debbie and they had one child; they later divorced.
He later married Rose Saumell and gained two bonus children, Jamie and Michael.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rose; children, Derek Hurford, Jamie (John) Gaffey and Michael (Irene) Saumell; grandchildren, Emilee, Jax, Jessie, Johnathan and one on the way; two brothers, Don (Kathy) Hurford and Dale (Barbara) Hurford; a sister, Melissa (Phil) Claypool; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Hurford.
Services took place at Crippin Funeral Home on May 30.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
