There were 71 golfers who played on 18 teams at last Sunday's Deltarado Days Weekend annual Delta Alumni Association Golf Tournament held at Devil's Thumb Golf Club. First Colorado National Bank was the sponsoring organization offering a variety of prizes for those who played the course.
This year's winners, with a 57, included team members Charlie Wilks, Scott Lewis, Brett Mills and Gary Anderson.
Finishing with a score of 59, and earning second place, was the team of KC Carlson, Logan Wood, Kevin Carlson and Randy Bodwell.
A score of 60 was good for third place in the open competition and was earned by the team of Dave Mills, Steve Massano, Chuck Mills and Chad Roberts.
The team that had all DHS alumni, and finished with the day's top alumni score (60) was a second-place winner. That team included Jeff Reiher, Blake Reiher, Keaton Reiher and Steve Reiher.
Alumni Association president Dwain Bush commented this was the best year ever for the golf tournament turnout. Bush praised the efforts of First Colorado National Bank and Amy Crick and Taylor Buchheim for their part in making this year's tournament a success. A big thank you went to the players who made it the best ever.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
