DHS soccer team wins 6-0

The 1-1 and 4-2 Delta soccer team regrouped, after last week's 2-1 loss to Roaring Fork, with a 6-0 rout over Colorado Rocky Mountain School (Carbondale).

Delta tallied two goals in the opening half of play and added another four goals in the second half for the 6-0 conference win.

Junior Brandon Harper led Delta scoring with two goals while senior Colton Godwin, junior Marcos Edmondson, freshman Martin Corral and junior Jose Pantoja scored one goal each.

Corral and sophomore Jason Holiman had one assist apiece and Pedro Montes dished out two assists.

Delta was aggressive on offense with 39 shots taken.

Joseph Holiman was in net for the Panthers and picked up the shutout win (4-2).

Delta faces Grand Valley on Sept. 24 with an 11 a.m. starting time and then faces Coal Ridge on Oct. 1 at 11 a.m.
