Delta resident Dixie Dickson died Nov. 14, 2015, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 90.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A private family interment will be held at Cedaredge Cemetery.

Dixie Lola Park was born in Delta Oct. 15, 1925, to Wesley and Vallie (Rhodes) Park. She spent her childhood and attended school in Olathe and Delta, graduating from Delta High School in 1943.
On Aug. 2, 1947, she married Charles Dickson in Aztec, N.M.
Mrs. Dickson worked as the assistant librarian in Delta until 1978 when she became the librarian for Delta Middle School until her retirement.
She was a member of TOPS for many years and volunteered at Delta County Memorial Hospital and Montrose Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, traveling, reading, four-wheeling Jeep trips in Ouray, walking, Curves, crafts and painting.
She is survived by two sons, Richard (Karen) Dickson of Aurora and James (Valarie) Dickson of Delta; a daughter, Vicki (Michael) Brown of Delta; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles, on Dec. 3, 1984.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
