Regarding the marijuana petition circulating in Delta, I beg all of you: Don't let our beautiful town go to pot.
My husband and I have been helping with a weekly Gideons Bible study at the Delta jail for the past 14 years and we have seen the vast human wreckage caused by addiction and drug use.
Marijuana is and has long been a gateway drug. Having said that, I do realize it has had a place medicinally for terminal cancer patients, as well as some with seizures.
Surely our community has a wealth of more creativity and entrepreneurship than to just promote marijuana use.
Let's see more lavender fields and hemp -- which has many other uses -- but not marijuana. Thank you for hearing me.
