Donald Blanscet

Donald Ray Blanscet died March 10, 2017, in Grand Junction. He was 78.

He was born in Hobart, Okla., Aug. 18, 1938, to Thomas and Opal (Chism) Blanscet. He graduated from Cedaredge High School.

He earned an associate degree in the electrical lineman program from Mesa College (Colorado Mesa University).

Mr. Blanscet was a former churn master at Challenge Butter in Eckert and was an electrical lineman in Mount Pleasant, Utah.

He enjoyed woodworking, camping, hiking and watching WWE wrestling and the QVC channel.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Norma Putney Blanscet; ex-wife, Vicki Snyder; children, Pamela Schaaf of Colorado Springs, Glenna (Perry) Bozarth of Grand Junction and Bob (Sharon) Lowrance of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sister, Emily (Rick) Blanscet; brother, Dwaine (Melissa) Blanscet; brother-in-law, Rick Huse; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Huse; and grandson, Christopher Lowrance.

Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m., and interment will be at the Olathe Cemetery.
