Donald "Donnie" L. Holton died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 64.
He was born in the Gunnison Valley June 17, 1951, to Kathleen and Donald Holton Sr. He grew up in the Gunnison Valley, helping with work on the family farm.
In the late 1960s he helped start Holton Pipe and Excavating with his father and brother. The business grew to become Don Holton Trucking.
Mr. Holton is survived by his friend and partner, Paula Johnson; a brother, Stephen (Laura) Holton; five sisters, Beverly (Don) Emery, Judith (Joseph) Waller, Eileen (Ben) Golden, Patricia (Daniel) Arellano and Kimberly (Darrin) Vandenberg; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, at First Baptist Church, 1250 Pioneer Road, Delta, with a meal following. All are welcome.
