Donald Hoskins

Delta resident Donald L. Hoskins died Aug. 8, 2017, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. He was 74.

He was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Gunnison to Chester Hoskins and Algia (Gingrich) Roberts. He was raised by his grandparents, Joe and Pearl Wright in Ohio City and then resided in the Delta area throughout his adult life.

He worked in mining, for Hi-Quality Packing, as a DJ for KVNF radio, a mechanic for Grand Mesa Imports and managed Delta Self Storage. After his retirement he continued his interests in electronics, computers, CB radio (Silver Fox) and ham radio (KC0NMR). He also enjoyed spending time in the Ohio City area.

He was married to Betty A. Hall.

Mr. Hoskins is survived by his children, Pearl Hamill, Jeremy Shiplet and Jamie Hoskins; one granddaughter, Amethyst Hamill; and one grandson, Ray Hoskins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Hoskins.
