Longtime Delta resident Donna Ames died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. She was 74.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, at Eckert Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be at Delta City Cemetery.
Donna Rae Woodard was born in Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 1, 1941, to Donald and Marion (Pritchard) Woodard. She grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1959.
She and her children moved to Delta in 1978. She worked as an accountant for DMEA.
She was a member of Eckert Presbyterian Church and was a four-time worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She volunteered at the senior center and was a driver for Meals on Wheels.
She enjoyed watching her grandchildren's activities, bowling, playing in the Eckert Presbyterian Church bell choir, adventures, camping and dominoes.
Mrs. Ames is survived by her sons, Rob (Traci) Ames and Gary (Ellen Farnsworth) Ames, all of Delta; her daughter, Susan (John Papp) Kennedy of Colorado Springs; her brother, Richard (Debbie) Woodard of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Sean Banks, Jake Ames, Katie Ames, Dominic Banks, John Ames, Ellie Ames, John Papp, Gregory Papp and Christopher Papp.
Memorial contributions may be made to Colorow Care Center's memory care wing.
