A Cedaredge High School senior who graduated early to pursue her nursing career plans is Orchard City's student of the month for March.
Mikaylah Saenz graduated early last semester from CHS with a 3.8 grade point average. She is currently attending the University of Northern Colorado pursuing a degree in nursing.
Also in pursuit of her career in the health care field, Mikaylah earned her CNA license last semester.
She has also participated in the Explorer EMT program, volunteered with Delta Health and Wellness Center, and volunteered 60 hours with University Hospital in Denver.
Mikaylah's other activities include working as a manager at Aspen Trails and helping with private home care at night.
The clock is ticking. The Delta Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) has 120 days to reach agreement with the taxing entities it's asking to help fund a gateway project near the intersection of Highways 50 and 92. Half that time has elapsed, and there is no Plan B, city manager David Torgler emphasized during a meeting with taxing entities Monday.
