Edgar "Ed" Guerin of Sterling died May 11, 2017, in Sterling. He was 78.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Michael Bodzioch celebrating. Private family inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Guerin was born in Delta on Feb. 11, 1939, to Jackson Dean and Genevia Guerin. He graduated from Delta High School in 1957.
On Sept. 9, 1957, he married Geraldine Corser in Reno, Nev. They moved to Sterling in 1959 where he worked in the heating and air conditioning business with his father-in-law, Bert Corser.
He later went to work for Sterling Lumber Company for 12 years, then started his own business, Valley Construction. He built many homes and businesses in Sterling, Eagle and Estes Park. He and his wife own the Mini Storage Company in Sterling.
Mr. Guerin was a member of the Fish and Game Club, Elks Lodge and St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
He was an avid fisher and hunter. He also enjoyed playing cards, having coffee and lunch with friends, and spending time with his family and his dog.
He is survived by his wife, Jerry; sons, Dennis (Kathy), Mike (Judy) and Kenny (Vicki); daughter, Sherry (Joe) Lederhos; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dean Guerin; and sister, Casadella Reed.

The seventh annual Eckert Crane Days, the annual viewing of the sandhill cranes migrating north from New Mexico through Colorado's West Slope, will be March 16-18. Representatives from the Black Canyon Chapter of the Audubon Society (BCAS) will be at the viewing site east of Eckert at Fruitgrowers Reservoir, 9 to 11 a.m. each day, to answer questions and provide binoculars and spotting scopes.
