Mergildo Eddie Trujillo died Friday, April 28, 2017, at his home in Delta. He was 70.
Mass was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church Wednesday, May 3. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Trujillo was born in Austin April 27, 1947, to Secendino and Benita (Aragon) Trujillo. He spent his childhood in Durango, Colorado Springs and Delta.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Indian culture and playing the guitar and harmonica.
He is survived by five brothers, Avon Trujillo, Jerry Trujillo, Benny Trujillo, Russell Trujillo and Roger Trujillo; four sisters, Louise Vialpando, Rosemarie Boneparte, Michelle Torres and Irma Trujillo; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Gilbert Trujillo; and a sister, Mary Badial.

On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
