Edna Mae Ballard died Oct. 13, 2017, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 93.
She was born April 7, 1924, to Jacob Tunis and Mary Miller in Akron.
On Aug. 22, 1939, she married Arbie Ballard in Brush, and they moved to Olathe in 1946. Mrs. Ballard was a Sunday school teacher for many years and worked in the church nursery.
She enjoyed gardening and crafting.
She is survived by her eight children, Eve (Charles) McMurdy of Olathe, Natheal (Sonya) Ballard of Delta, Manuel (Kathy) Ballard of Walnut Grove, Mo., John (Pam) Ballard of Hotchkiss, Sarah (Bill) Washington of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Isaac (June) Ballard of Crawford, Neb., Paul (Melody) Ballard of Colorado Springs and Esther (Lonny) Cain of Montrose; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arbie Ballard, in 1962; three children, Baby Boy, Martha and Adam, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967; two sisters, Alma Clark and Dollie Tunis; and one great-granddaughter, Joanna.
Services will be held at Bible Baptist Church in Olathe on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Olathe Cemetery.
