Eckert resident Edwin P. Minion died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. He was 87.
A celebration of life will be held May 14.
Mr. Minion was born in Bingham Lake, Minn., May 14, 1928, to John and Rita (Kelly) Minion. The family moved to Delta in 1947.
Mr. Minion worked as a production manager for Skyland Foods for 20-plus years.
He married Barbara (Bradley) Cates on Aug. 9, 1969.
He was a member of the Delta Elks Lodge #1235 for 67 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, outdoor activities, the game of billiards and the beauty of western Colorado.
Mr. Minion is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Minion of Eckert; two sons, Greg (Nor-ine) Minion of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Gary (Jane Bolt) Minion of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Shawna Minion of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Pat (Ron) Albers of Sun City West, Ariz., and Carol Minion of Delta; a sister-in-law, Bernadine Minion of Grand Junction; two brothers-in-law, Don (Debra) Bradley of Olathe and Jerry (Sandy) Bradley of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two stepsons, Danny Cates of Oregon and David Cates of Montrose; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack; and the mother of his three children, Dorothy Minion.
